Jeff Bridges Hits the Waves as a Surfing Penguin in Surf's Up

Jeff Bridges lends his voice to one of the biggest surfing stars in penguin history in the animated mockumentary, Surf's Up. A surfer himself, Bridges says part of the appeal of the film was to see how the filmmakers would animate the sport. "You know what really got me on board was this whole surfing aspect of things and how well they pulled the water element of this film off," said Bridges. "They're going to do a surfing movie? How are the waves going to look? Is it going to be almost like a photograph?' Then they started to show me some of the footage they had worked on. Being a surfer myself, it was a thrill to be able to be a part of bringing to the audience what that feels like to be locked in the tube. That's kind of what got me on board." If seems as though Shia LaBeouf’s name is attached to every major project in the works, it’s because the actor’s taken on a bunch of projects within the past year that have generated a lot of attention. LaBeouf recently held the top spot at the box office for a few weeks with the dramatic thriller, Disturbia, and voices the lead role in Sony Pictures Animation’s animated penguin movie, Surf’s Up.
